Daily News | IBEX, the main Spanish benchmark, declined

Rather than with politics, we’ll begin our today’s briefing with some news from Verizon. In case you haven’t heard, a couple of days ago every single Yahoo account was hacked and today’s hottest information is that a top executive Marni Walden is leaving the company. Coincidence? We don’t think so. Even if buying Yahoo had some sense, now this is obviously a move Verizon might regret. As for the Walden, she was a rising star and a rare female in the upper ranks. If you usually trade Yahoo stocks, this might be the opportunity to do something.

We bring some news from London as well, and it has to do with IBEX. Since all of the Spain-related investors are focused on the situation with Catalonia, the main Spanish benchmark IBEX declined 0.2 percent. Furthermore, shares in Catalonia-headquartered Caixabank and Banco Sabadell fell today 1.7 percent. Given that IBEX went down, now might be a good time to make your move. In addition, there is some bad news from Portugal: Portuguese utility EDP fell due to the regulatory reviews and cuttings from Credit Suisse. We will keep monitoring the situation and let you know if anything changes, as always, so do come back next week for more interesting stories from the world of finance.
