FX options

OK, we know that we’re repeating ourselves, but here it goes again – IQ Option has added a new interesting feature to its offer. However, this is not just another new thing you can try out. IQ Option FX options are a completely new trading concept which will affect a huge number of traders. This is connected to recent regulatory changes in the trading world, particularly in the EU, so traders there will be especially pleased with what they’re getting. Because of the importance of this new type of trading instruments, we have prepared quite an extensive article for you in this case. You will learn why this new type of trading was developed and why it could have an extremely big impact on the world of trading in general. Read on!

Background

Let’s start from the beginning. A little more than a month ago, ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) started imposing new, more strict measures concerning binary options. These are not allowed in the EU since July 2nd and their status will remain the same for at least three months. This applies not just to the countries of the EU, but to the countries of the European Economic Area, as well. Since IQ Option started out in Europe and as a binary options broker, this affects the company in more ways than one. Of course, they now have many other products they can offer, but a significant part of that has now been rendered invalid in countries under ESMA’s control. Besides, a significant chunk of their clients comes from the EEA too, so a solution needed to be found. Sure enough, they’ve come up with one. Meet IQ Option FX options.

What are IQ Option FX options?

As their name suggests, these contracts are essentially a combination of forex and binary options trading. Just like with binary options, you determine how much you want to invest and choose between call and put options. However, what you will be dealing with are solely currencies, plus you have the option to set the expiration time yourself (one and five minutes are your options at the moment). Not only that, but you also set the strike price, plus it is also possible to sell your option before it reaches its expiration time if you see that you need to react in order to take your profit or curb your losses. To help you do that more efficiently, the broker has added a profitability scale to the interface, to the right side of your screen, which will tell you immediately how significant the price change for you is. As you can see, you have a lot of ways to manage and influence your trades even after you open them, which is certainly an upgrade compared to regular binary options.
At the moment, 14 forex pairs can be traded this way, but we believe the offer will be expanded fairly soon, especially if this type of trading turns out to be popular among traders. What is also reminiscent of forex trading is the fact that your return in these cases is not limited in any way, and even if your prediction doesn’t turn out to be correct, you will still be able to salvage some of your initial investment. This is because everything is based on your asset’s price, so your loss and profit will grow or fall as much as the price grows or falls (CFDs, anyone?). Binary options traders will know how big this is. But who can trade here? We’ll show you that next, so don’t go away.

Who can trade IQ Option FX options?

Currently, IQ Option FX options can only be used by non-EU traders. However, that will change very soon, and the product will become available to literally everyone. That’s why we’re writing this, naturally: European traders have to be notified. Apart from the geographical ones (which will be removed soon), there are no other restrictions for this type of trading. You can access it however you want and whenever you want, be it via Android and iOS devices, through your web browser or by using your desktop app. No matter how you decide to do it, simply select this product in the Options tab on the broker’s platform (a drop-down menu is where you need to look), choose the currency pair that interests you and make your investment. There are absolutely no complications, and the whole process is exceptionally smooth. Considering how low the expiry times you can set are and the fact that you can sell your option even earlier than that, it is quite possible that you will be able to move a lot of funds in a fairly short amount of time. To that end, it’s wise to check how all of this works in a legal context. Stay tuned!

Fully ESMA-compliant

We mentioned earlier that ESMA put a stop to binary options trading about a month ago. Do these ESMA restrictions affect IQ Option FX options? No, absolutely not! The previous part of this article said that the instruments will soon become available to EU traders too, and IQ Option is certainly not the kind of company that would go against such important institutions and start conducting shady transactions. To clarify, ESMA restrictions apply to binary options only, and since this is a completely new type of trading which offers a lot more than that, the restrictions are not something you need to worry about in this case. Especially if you’re not in the EEA, of course (unfortunately, this also applies to US traders, as always). In other words, you don’t have to worry about these instruments being illegal. Everything checks out from that standpoint, so it will be very interesting to see if the broker keeps adding to this part of the offer. Speaking of the offer here, we would just like to reiterate that everything else will stay the same ant that you will still be able to enjoy all those spectacular deals when you log in. Here’s a quick reminder of what they are.

Incredible trading conditions

When considering investing into IQ Option FX options, just remember that all other trading conditions that have made this company what it is today are still present. In other words, you can open your account with a minute initial deposit (10$), and the minimum trade requirement is set to a single dollar. All trading is done on an excellent in-house made trading platform which is an extremely advanced piece of software packed with loads of very useful tools and indicators. On top of that, you can always talk to an excellent and very capable support crew or simply check without any risk how things work thanks to a completely free demo account. As a matter of fact, we’d recommend you do that, given that these options are still fairly new, especially since the demo account can be created with a single click. Surprised? This is a giant in the trading world for a very good reason, you know. Besides, the company is regulated by CySEC and would never do anything to jeopardize that license, so you can be absolutely sure every move they make will adhere to the rules set by this European agency. No matter how you look at it, you are in good hands here.

Conclusion

So, to conclude, IQ Option FX options are a new product from this illustrious company. These new instruments are supposed to substitute binary options, which have been deemed unacceptable in the EEA by ESMA. They will do that by combining elements from forex trading and binary options into one, so you will still have call and put options, but no limits to your potential profit. You will also have a chance to save some of your investment if your prediction turns out to be incorrect, and we can conclude that this new product certainly represents an upgrade compared to now obsolete binary options. At the moment, only non-EU traders can trade this way, but this is about to change, so if you’re in Europe prepare yourself. At least 14 different currency pairs will be available for this type of trading at first, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that number grows, to be honest. The rest of the website will stay pretty much the same, and IQ Option will continue to be the broker we all know and love. Therefore, if you want a new trading challenge, all you have to do is open an account with this company.
